My computer became seriously ill last week. I did all I could but finally had to submit it to a higher authority. It went in hospital on Thursday.
I practiced my very best French – not the language, but the attitude: a persistent inability to comprehend and accept the word 'NON'. Through perseverance and generally making myself a first class nuisance I was able to encourage the nice people to have it ready for me yesterday afternoon.
The sad news is they were unable to diagnose the problem (I can do THAT!). The sadder news is that, in a last ditch effort to repair
the damn thing it they reformatted the hard drive. (I can do THAT, to!) The saddest news is that, somehow, they managed to corrupt half of my data files (Haven't a clue how to do that!)
So, my website is only there in bits and pieces. My photo albums are only there in bits and pieces. My…you get the picture. My sanity is only here in bits and pieces.
Now that I have had a calming moment of putting my horrors into words I shall get back at it. It took me until an hour ago to reinstall all of the software so I have only just realized that files were corrupt.
On another note, my
fist hand should be back to normal in about a week and mon mari assures me that the dents in the wall will be easily repaired. I expect the dogs will stop cowering shortly.
He also assures me that he will make dinner and have a glass of champagne waiting for me when I have finished/pack it in the the night. Smart man, mon mari…..
PS: As to Weekend Herb Blogging, I had planned on participating but
ALL OF MY RECIPES ARE IN THE G– D—- F—–G CORRUPT FILES!!!!! er, excuse me for shouting.., my recipes are currently unavailable to me. Perhaps next week….
