  2. As much as I’d like to keep it vegetarian, I feel you need the sausage, especially if it is smoked, to add that extra flavor booster (call it umami) in a soup like this.
    Sounds delicious!

  3. haha did you read my bost about beef and barley soup a few weeks back? Needless to say, this is probably not going to be made in my house anytime soon, but the renovations look cool. I especially like how you guys “tarted up the posts.” 🙂

  5. I, certainly, understand the trials and errors of renovating and remodeling …let your husband know he is doing an outstanding job! Your recipe for Bean and Barley Soup is outstanding, as well. It sounds incredibly delicious…I so much love the ingredients & it will be a wholesomely nutritious soup.
