This is a quick stir-fry; the asparagus should be crisp-tender, lightly browned and slightly blistered.
I ‘roll cut’ the asparagus. It’s easy to do and gives you interesting looking pieces with lots of surface for picking up flavors. Use it on any round vegetable – carrots, asparagus, green beans, small summer squash…..
To roll cut – slice one end at an angle, roll 1/4 turn and slice at the same angle, roll 1/4 turn and slice, etc.

The floor is finished.
Well, except for the trim and the last coat of varnish.
He’s making the window seat before he does the trim and he won’t do the last bit of varnishing until the trim is done.
We’re soooo close.
He had a slight setback today….
Every time he plugged in his table saw he blew the power in the house.
I’m getting really good at resetting all the clocks and remembering which lights come on when power is restored.
It was a short. He fixed it.
I decided it was practice for the summer thunderstorms…..
On another note….
The birds were making an excessive amount of noise the other evening. I went out to see what the problem was…. the neighbor’s cat in a tree perhaps?
When I stepped out of the door the sun was close to setting and was hitting this acacia tree just perfectly.
It was luminous.
It looked like every tiny flower had a tiny candle inside.
I was awestruck.
I stared at it for a few minutes then ran back in for my camera.
Like a sunset…. the camera just wasn’t up to the task.
You’ll have to take my word for it.
