Whole Wheat Bran Bread
Doesn’t that just scream ‘healthy’?
And maybe ‘heavy’?
I wouldn’t be telling tales out of school (I would never do that, sheesh!) but there might have been one or two or so Babes that were concerned, but only very slightly, that Whole Wheat Bran Bread was a euphemism for ‘doorstop’.
Ha!
Well – they all agree that they were oh so very wrong….
It was all Lien’s idea.
Lien, of Notitie Van Lien, was our host kitchen this month, and she decided the Babes should make a healthy bread.
It turns out it was also a very tasty bread, with good crumb, nice height (mostly), made great toast and delicious French toast.
For more information, check our her post and recipe for the Bran Bread.

I love the idea of using this for french toast! Now I will have to make more… Thanks for the round up!
I have baked some whole wheat bricks … this was not one of them. Definitely one to bake again, as I did. A little honey put the missing spark in it.
Thanks so much for the round up!
Sigh… as I’m the one who caused the phrase “nice height (mostly), maybe I’ll try again. Once I’ve finished licking my wounds….
Excellent round-up as usual, Katie.
Kelly, I did too – I haven’t had it in years
Tanna, amazing what a little hint of sweet can do. Yeah, I’ve had a few door stops LOL
You’re very welcome Karen
Elizabeth, height isn’t everything,… Thanks!
