The Christmas Cookie List

It’s been very cold here the last week or so…. And our furnace / boiler / chauffage is not working.

That means that we don’t have heat.

Okay, to be honest we have some heat. We have the fireplace and the wood-burner in the kitchen.

And every time the furnace repair guy comes it works for awhile so we have sporadic heat from the radiators.

Actually, he has no idea what the problem is because whenever he’s here it works perfectly. Then he leaves and it stops.

I asked him to move in…..

We’ve also been having internet problems. It works fine all day then cuts out just when we want to watch Netflix.

They don’t believe me either. Today I was told it was probably the fault of my desk lamp.

How silly of me…. I should have realized that the desk lamp I’ve had for years has now started causing problems for my internet – but only at night. During the day, even though it’s on, it causes no problems.

So I’ve spent the last 3 days unplugging, plugging, re-booting, re-starting, and waiting for results that never happen.

I decided it was time to think about ideas for Christmas gifts and….. Cookies.

I’m right, aren’t I?

In case you’re wondering what kind of cookies to bake this Christmas, here are my favorites:

Butterscotch Refrigerator Cookies. Mix, shape into a roll and refrigerate. Slice and bake anytime.

Triple Chocolate Chunk…. Triple – that says it all for these easy drop cookies

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk – dark chocolate makes these good for us. Really.

Ginger Chocolate Chunk – Chocolate Chip meets Ginger Snaps and my personal favorite.

Zimsterne – light and spicy and an easy cut-out cookie for those who want to fuss.

Did I mention we are going to Paris just before Christmas?

Assuming we get the heat fixed so we can leave the house and the internet fixed so I can finish the reservations.
