Joyeux Noël, Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas
We were in Paris last week.
It rained.
We foolishly thought that because the streets were empty the stores might not be crowded.
We were wrong.
It rained – so the entire world went to the big department stores to shop.
We tried to go into Galleries Lafayette.
Really…. we tried.
Actually, we made it through security with no problems. Mon mari looked around, briefly, and said he’d wait for me outside.
I thought I’d just take a quick meander through…..
I made it to the center court.
I took a photo:
It really was gorgeous.
So I walked around to the other side and took another
It changed colors.
That all sounds much simpler than it was. Not only did I have to shoulder my way through the crowds I had to find an opening between all the sweet young things fluffing their hair and posing into their phones for the perfect selfie.
I left.
We did not attempt the other department stores.
We found a nice cafe where we could sit over a coffee and watch the Parisian world go by…..
That is, after all, the best thing to do in Paris.
With that thought…..
Merry Christmas
Happy Holidays
Bonne Fêtes
Bon Nadal
Mele Kalikimaka
Have I missed any?
