Well. we are the Bread Baking Babes, not the Bread Frying-in-Hot-Oil Babes.
Although, now that I think about it, there are some in our ranks who do tend to get in a bit of hot water…. Still, not oil.
And we are such a health-conscious lot we would, of course, bake our donuts.
At least there was yeast.
Pat, of Feeding My Enthusiasms, and our host kitchen for the month, wanted an easy recipe for this busy time of year.
She also wanted something a bit festive.
The donuts have just the right amount of spice to make the kitchen smell like the holidays.
And the finishing coating of sugar looks rather snowy or frosty, fitting the season.
Or, at least, one’s seasonal fantasies. I don’t think the dull, gray, drizzly, damp of our winter would be anyone’s Christmas fantasy.
The Babes were surprisingly well-behaved this month, although we do have a couple of rebels who used cherries or cranberries in place of the currents.
If you would like to try these delicious, easy, festive donuts visit, Feeding My Enthusiasms to get the recipe and the details for being a Bread Baking Buddy this month
Here are the Babes’ Donuts….
