My mother grew up on a farm on top of a bluff overlooking the Mississippi.
There were woods and pastures and fields and fantastic views out over the valley.
We lived down in the town, but she never tired of ‘going for a drive’ up the bluff road to her childhood home.
We weren’t always able to go down the drive to the house. There were various owners over the years and some were friendly; others not so welcoming. The fields were sold off to other farmers, and the last time we visited it, about 10 years ago, shortly before she died, there was, once again, a new owner.
This owner was thrilled to have my mother visit and happily showed her all around the house and farm buildings, listening when she talked about her swing having been in a particular tree and showing her the changes he’d made to the old vegetable garden.
She was amazed and a bit taken aback to see that, in place of her mother’s vegetable patch, there was now a large goldfish pond, complete with a fountain and benches to sit and contemplate the view.
I thought it would make her sad to see such a change.
She thought it was wonderful…. How lovely to listen to the soothing sounds of a fountain as one drifts off to sleep.
If you have ever thought about adding some water interest to your own property this guest post will give you a few tips.
3 Reasons to install pond equipment
Water fixtures and ponds are a good way to spice up your garden. You can choose to have a combination of a flower garden and a pond or have a solo, unique pond added to your garden space. Also, a lot of people don’t know that ponds don’t have to be bland, as experts have now come up with ways of making them look more sophisticated and modern. That said, below are some of the reasons why you should install pond equipment on your property;
Improve the curb appeal of your property
When selling your house, having it organized and cleaned up is a no-brainer. You want your potential buyers to feel attracted to the space and eventually make a purchase. While most people focus more on the interior and do little on the outside, having a great curb appeal can make the sale quicker than you thought. You can add a modernized pond in your backyard and this will be your unique selling point. Also, you don’t only need to add a pond to your space when trying to sell your house. You can install one for your own sake. This will boost your property and will be a good way to improve a rather boring backyard or garden.
Use up idle space
Installing a pond can be a good way to use up idle space in your home and this does not have to be in your backyard. However, if you are using the backyard, then you can get creative about it and add fancy waterfalls and plants in the pond. You can also ask your contractor to give advice on different indoor pond designs in case you have any indoor space you wanted to make use of. What’s more, you can easily get pond equipment from https://www.livingwateraeration.com/ and let the experts fix your pond for you.
Enjoy a new hobby
While some people enjoy gardening, this can be a good alternative for those people who don’t. It may seem hard at first but once you get the hang of it, you will enjoy it. Also, you can buy the pond equipment and then make it a DIY project. If you had moved in to a new neighborhood, then this can be a good way to make friends with your new neighbors. You can politely ask for help or even spend this time to bond with your kids when installing it. This can be a newly found hobby that you can always indulge in every time you have some time to spare.
There are many reasons for installing a pond in your home. Whether you are looking for a new hobby or want to revamp your backyard and add some life to it. Also, having a pond will not necessarily take a plunge on your finances because it is fairly affordable. So, if you are looking to install pond in your compound, find a suitable pond equipment supplier and a good contractor or just do it yourself!
