Sourdough Savory Danish Crown, Bread Baking Babes

Savory Danish Crown, filled with fried onions and fresh Parmesan.

Sound tempting?

While I would happily eat it for breakfast (I like savory things for breakfast) I am really thinking how well it would go with a wedge of stinky cheese, maybe some fois gras and a glass of hearty red wine.

Oh yes, and all of that in front of a roaring fire.

We have winter…. and, from what I’ve seen in the photos, some of the Babes have snow.

This bread might be a bit more challenging than usual, but if you love to bake this could be the impressive show-stopper on your holiday table.

Cathy, of Bread Experience, our host kitchen for this month, gives detailed instructions of every step – with photos.

Reasonable photos, I might add – not the kind that drive one crazy looking for the important stuff.

She even shows how to make the fresh bread crumbs used in the recipe.

If you are ready to make this impressive, and tasty bread, head over to Bread Experience for the recipe and the details for being a Bread Baking Buddy this month.

As to the rest of the Babes…..

  1. Thanks for the roundup Katie! I like the idea of having this bread in front of a roaring fire. Not sure it needs anymore cheese though. I think it’s delicious on it’s own.
