This is the first time in awhile that I haven’t been able to say or do something creative with the bread of the month.
However, the Babes managed to go over-the-top with creativity with this fluffy, Indian flat bread.
That was not an oxymoron. It’s a fluffy flat bread.
Aparna, of My Diverse Kitchen, and the host kitchen for this month, brought the monthly baking challenge home to India…. “Matar or Chola Kulcha is a much loved street food across parts of North India, especially in the by-lanes of Old Delhi”
To explain things a bit better (I hope I get this right) ‘kulcha’ is the bread, ‘matar is white peas and ‘chola’ is chickpeas. So Matar Kulcha is a street food meal of a white pea salad with flat bread and Chola Kulcha is the same but with chickpeas.
If you want to get the accurate description, as well as the story behind the dish, and the recipes for the bread and all the accompaniments visit My Diverse Kitchen.
Be sure to check out all the Babe’s this month – the kulcha are similar but the chutneys and salsas and even beet greens are all different.
One could say there is something for everyone.
Plus the flatbread lookes both easy and delicious…..
And that’s it for the Babes in the September. Stay Safe & Healthy Everyone! And keep on wearing your mask!!!
