Pork Chops and Onions, Instant Pot

Instant Pot Pork & Onions

I had boneless chops that were about 3/4″ (1.5cm) thick. They were tender, but not falling apart. Our preference is falling apart so next time I will add 2 minutes to the cooking time.

  • 2 pork chops, (12oz, 360gr total weight) boneless, cut in half
  • 2 tbs flour
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tbs olive oil, divided
  • 1 cup (8oz, 240ml) chicken broth
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 bay leaves

  • Mix paprika and flour
  • Coat pork chops in flour mixture.
  • Set the Instant Pot to Saute for 3 minutes.
  • When hot add half the olive oil and the pork chops.
  • Brown pork on both sides, turning once. Remove to a plate.
  • Set the Instant Pot to Saute for 3 minutes (again).
  • Add remaining oil, onions, and cook, stirring occasionally.
  • Add chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits.
  • Add any remaining flour and stir to combine.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves and chops.
  • Secure cover, set Instant Pot to High Pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Natural release for 10 minutes then quick release.
  • Remove bay leaves and serve.

If your chops are thicker or thinner you may want to adjust the time by a few minutes.

The time does not include coming up to pressure or releasing pressure. Total time was about 35 minutes
