I chuckled at the title of this… the right one?
We have 3 plus a smoker:
A gas grill for doing easy, every day cooking, like chicken breasts, hamburgers, or sausages.
A weber-style charcoal grill for when we want more ‘barbecue’ flavor for barbecued chicken, barbecued pork tenderloin, etc. Sometimes we throw on a few wood chips.
A small, charcoal grill for when we want a very hot fire for doing steaks, lamb chops, etc.
We use the smoker for salmon, pasta, whole chickens or pork roasts.
However, not everyone is as serious or as experienced as mon mari. If you are new to outdoor cooking, read on for some helpful tips:
Whether it’s a backyard barbecue or a tailgate party, having a grill is essential to having an outdoor get- together. A quality outdoor grill is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment you can own. It’s possible that you already own an outdoor grill and now you’re wondering what its best uses are. If you’re new to grills, there are many things to consider before purchasing one. They come in all different shapes and sizes, with varying levels of features and price points. Because of this, how do you know which type of grill is right for your needs? Here are some hints on what to look for when shopping for your next grill:
If you are looking for an outdoor grill to use for your backyard barbecue, then a fork-style grill is probably what you need. If, however, you are considering purchasing one for tailgates and other large gatherings, then a hands-on grill may be the better option. Pro tip: Forks typically have smaller grates because they don’t get as hot as hands-on grills. This makes them ideal for things like hamburgers and hot dogs.
Build quality is one thing you should consider before purchasing any grill. The construction of the grill will determine how long it will last and how easy it will be to assemble. Look for a grill with a durable, rust-resistant construction that’s built to last. Quality grills are constructed out of aluminum or stainless steel and feature heat-resistant materials designed to reduce heat damage. Grills with a sturdy build are often more reliable and easier to maintain than cheaper grills. The construction of your outdoor grill is just as important as its features. Top rated outdoor grills will last for years due to its high-quality build, but if the parts break easily, you’ll have a lot of replacements in a short period of time.
This is a decision you have to make for yourself. If you’re cooking at a tailgate party or at a backyard barbecue, the timer is probably going to be your most important feature because it will help you manage your time. If you’re just cooking in your backyard, then this might not matter as much and you can go with a grill that doesn’t have one. Another thing to consider is whether or not your grill comes with a side burner. This will make it easier for you to cook off-the-grid and in areas where there isn’t much electricity.
Gas grills offer fuel efficiency and convenience. Fuel-powered grills are great for cooking small to medium-sized meals, but they’re not great for large gatherings. Charcoal is a more traditional fuel type and offers many benefits. Charcoal grills tend to be more affordable than gas grills, as well as offering a nostalgic feel that gas can’t match. They’re also good at cooking larger pieces of food and are great if you like barbecue style cooking. BBQ pellet smokers are another option if you want to get the best of both worlds: the convenience of a gas grill with the flavor of charcoal grilling. These smokers use pellets instead of a stick or log for fuel, which means you can cook smaller amounts of food at a time without having to light up the grill every time it’s used.
Smokers are a popular type of grill because they can cook food over low, indirect heat. They are great for smoking meats, vegetables and fish. If you’re looking for a smoker that is ready to go out on the market, look into electric smokers. These smokers use electricity to power their heating element and offer incredible convenience. If you’re looking for an outdoor grill that has a large cooking surface area and versatility in mind, gas grills are your best bet. These grills offer more cooking space than electric models and often have multiple burners for different uses such as cooking or searing steaks simultaneously. Gas grills also tend to be easier to maintain than electric models due to their simplicity and lack of electrical components.
The first thing to look at is the type of grill you are thinking about purchasing. If you’re looking for a large, high-quality grill that will be used often and need more cooking space, you may want to consider a covered grill. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something smaller and just need to cook one or two things on a day-to-day basis, an open grill may be the right choice for you.
– Price: Some grills are budget-friendly while others can be pricey. If you’re not sure which grill to buy, start out with a cheaper model before investing in a more expensive one.
– Grilling type: In general, gas grills are the most popular option for outdoor cooking. However, propane and charcoal grills both have their benefits.
– Ease of use: It’s important to consider how easy it is to use your grill and maintain it. Some models may require some assembly before the first time you cook on them, so make sure that you’re willing to put in the effort.
– Cooking area: A large cooking area is beneficial for larger gatherings because it gives guests more options during dinner time. If you’re only hosting small parties or gatherings, then a smaller grill may work better for you.
– Accessories: You don’t need to buy a new BBQ grill if it comes with all the accessories you want or need; however, they can add to your overall experience so make sure your grill has what you need or want before purchasing anything extra.
