How can you prepare a seafood boil?

Living in the middle of the U.S., a seafood boil was not part of growing up.

I should say, living in a small town in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the Midwest, did not expose me to a lot of seafood.

When I moved to the ‘city’ I was introduced to lobster and crab legs and scallops and shrimp and loved all of it.

Still, any exposure I had to a seafood boil was watching it on a cooking show. It always looked like so much fun – especially when it was done on the beach with lots of people.

But there is no reason one can’t do it anywhere – an apartment, a lawn, lakeside, or a park. It still sounds like fun.

Just get the seasonings right…..

Different households have different types of gatherings / dinner parties / feasts that they like to hold often. Some families have a tradition of inviting their neighbors, while some invite their friends and families. All of them gather at one table and share a meal that is prepared with love and warmth. Having these kinds of meals together builds a good relationship between families. It gives a sense of belonging while love and friendship strengthen over a dinner table. Humans are happier when they are around people. Rather than spending your time alone and thinking about what to do, why don’t you throw a feast for your friends or family so they can enjoy the party with you? Many problems can be fixed over a plate of food and a glass of wine.

Seafood is one of the foods that is eaten in a large quantity all around the world. People enjoy eating seafood as much as they enjoy having any other cuisine. In some countries, seafood is the only thing that people eat. This is a chance for you to throw a seafood boil at your place and wow your friends and family with bursts of flavor.

Seafood feast: There are some essential things that you need to know about a seafood boil and what goes into preparing the whole feast.

  • Apart from the seafood that will be used, one of the most essential things is seafood boiler seasoning.
  • Seafood boil seasoning: It is a blend of different species used to add flavor to the water before the seafood is put in it. The seafood absorbs seasoning from the water leaving the flesh to be juicy and flavorful. These spices help the seafood gain flavor while it cooks. You can take your seafood boil feast to the next level in many different ways. This seasoning is available in the markets, and you can also make it at home.

How to make the seasoning:

Seafood boil seasoning is a blend of different species that add flavor. Here is a list of spices you can mix together to create the perfect seasoning.

  • Oregano
  • Thyme
  • Celery Seeds
  • Old Bay Seasoning
  • Cayenne Pepper

Apart from all of these ingredients mentioned above, if you are fond of cooking and want your food to be flavorful, you can add several extra ingredients to the pot while the food is cooking. This will leave the seafood bursting with flavor.

The measurement of the ingredients and the timing when they are put into the pot vary according to the cook, the tradition, and the type of seafood.

And then there are all of the other additions to the pot: sweetcorn, potatoes, garlic, mushrooms, sausage, and more….
