Korean Cream Cheese Garlic Buns, aka: Six-Sided Cream Garlic Buns.
These are sweet, soft garlic buns โ nothing at all like the Garlic Bread so loved (by some) in the West.
They started out as street food but have grown in popularity (I can understand why).
The buns are baked, then sliced into 6 wedges which are filled with the cream cheese / garlic mixture, then baked again until slightly crunchy.
Sound good?

The Babes think soโฆ.
Aparna, of My Diverse Kitchen, our host Kitchen for May, gives a bit of history about these Buns, as well as tips on how to make them vegetarian โ or modify them to your own personal preferences. (Less sweet? More garlic? More crunch?)
The Babes had no problems with their usual attitude (ahem) towards recipes and ingredients.
If these lovely, soft buns appeal to you, and you want to try your hand at the Korean Cream Cheese Garlic Buns, check out My Diverse Kitchen.
You will find the recipe and all the details for baking along this month.

Ha. Problems with recipes? Me?
Hereโs the question I didnโt think to ask out loud: why does the garlic in the garlic butter turn chartreuse green? Itโs pretty, but itโs also just a little alarming.
Donโt all those cream cheese garlic buns look beautiful?! Thank you again for showing them all together.
It is a strange color, and I was curious.
I worked with someone once who would not eat green foodโฆ. also alarming.
Thanks for the lovely roundup! All of those cream cheese garlic buns look so delicious!
And theyโre all the same shape! I think that may be a first for the Babes!
Also, they reheat just fabulously in the air fryer! So crispy on the outside, and so good and creamy all warmed up in the middle.
You can reheat bread in an air fryer? Hmmmโฆ.
I think I would like the texture before the second bake. I might have to play around with theseโฆ
They do sound rather moor-ish, donโt they? And I do love garlicโฆ
Wow these look amazing and delicious.I have not come across them before !
I hadnโt either โ but I love anything with garlic!
