Salad with Pork & Mushrooms

This is the last salad of this season.

We actually had our last salad awhile ago but I’ve been remiss in writing up the recipes.

When it’s too hot to be outside one has the opportunity to catch up on paperwork….

If one doesn’t spend it doom-scrolling.

This is a mid-summer salad, with onions and peppers from the garden. Add some crusty bread to round out the meal.

Notes

You could add some cubed potatoes to the skillet – and the salad

Just as well that I’ve pulled the lettuce – and the beans and the sweet corn.

None of it was doing well and we have just been put under water restrictions.

We can water vegetable gardens, trees planted in the last 3 years, and shrubs planted this year. The last 2 only a minimum and only once per week.

All watering has to be done between 8pm and 8 am. I’ll have to water before coffee!!!

Flowers, whether in pots or the ground, are out of luck unless you have water barrels full of previously collected rain water. Since it hasn’t rained in recent history that’s unlikely.

No personal, human or animal, restrictions or limits have been issued.

Yet…

Have I said that I miss winter?
