Baby Pumpkins Filled with Bacon, Shallots, Mushrooms; pumpkins for Halloween

Thyme for Cooking Posted on November 1, 2017 by Katie ZellerNovember 1, 2017
Filled Baby Pumpkins

I didn’t grow any little pumpkins this year but I saw a few at the local market and couldn’t resist.

I really do like the flavor. They are moister than an acorn squash and are really the perfect size for a first course.

Plus they seem to produce more reliably than the Sweet Dumpling squash that I planted this year…..… Continue reading.....

Baby Pumpkins Stuffed with Beef and Ricotta Cheese, the second time

Pumpkins & Puppies Week: Siblings.

I grew these miniature pumpkins 2 years ago.

They were perfect single serving size and just demanded being stuffed.

They were perfect single serving size and just demanded being stuffed.

Day 1 of Pumpkins and Puppies Week.

I grew these miniature pumpkins 2 years ago.

They were perfect single serving size and just demanded being stuffed.

As it was fall, mushrooms and walnuts seemed particularly appropriate.

Bacon, of course, is always appropriate.

And that, me readers, is how recipes are born….

I love stuffing vegetables in the fall.

Or any time … Continue reading.....

Baby Pumpkin Stuffed with Ham, Walnuts and Sage; sunrise, sunset

Thyme for Cooking Posted on October 30, 2013 by Katie ZellerOctober 4, 2017

This is the last one…..

I promise.

I still have a few left, but they’re just going to be sliced and roasted for a vegetable side dish.

I was thinking I should do something sweet with the stuffing for the last one.

I have maple syrup….

Maple syrup makes me think of pancakes and pancakes make me think of breakfast … Continue reading.....
