Cauliflower, Cheese and Egg Casserole; The Bunny Slayer

Thyme for Cooking Posted on February 27, 2013 by KatieAugust 10, 2013

I am such a bad blogger. I have a habit of reading other food blogs (that’s a good thing), finding recipes I like (also a good thing), forgetting where I saw the recipe (that’s a bad thing) and deciding to make it anyway as best I can from memory. A good blogger would remember the original poster / creator of the recipe and give proper credit. I’m a bad blogger. … Continue reading →

Vegetable Frittata; and a Hoo-rag?

Thyme for Cooking Posted on December 21, 2012 by KatieAugust 10, 2013

I just love these cute little individual casserole dishes. Obviously, so do the French as they are everywhere, along with little cookbooks with recipes for the ‘cocottes’. Frittata de Légumes Total time: 45 minutes   Ingredients: 1 carrot, finely chopped 1/2 cup butternut squash, finely chopped 1/2 green pepper, finely chopped 2 shallots, finely chopped  2 tbs parsley, chopped 4 tsp butter 3 eggs 1/2 tsp paprika 2 tsp Dijon-style mustard … Continue reading →

Butternut Squash, Leek and Rice Gratin; the update

Thyme for Cooking Posted on February 21, 2011 by KatieNovember 20, 2019

Yes, I’m still finding new ways with my never-ending butternut squash. But first – we have actual, visible, easy-to-see proof that we worked last week. We papered. Because he had to cut the sheet rock panels in half to get them upstairs, they were missing the beveled edge needed for a smooth finish.  Paper seemed the logical choice. You can’t really tell – but I was very pleased when I … Continue reading →

Potato, Ham and Broccoli Gratin; the update

Thyme for Cooking Posted on February 15, 2011 by KatieOctober 10, 2017

Exciting times chez nous…. We have a finished, painted wall in our soon-to-be bedroom! Okay, not quite finished… It still has the phone wire sticking out of the top that has to be tucked into the corner and run down the wall.  Remember, stone walls don’t allow things to be neatly hidden away.  That’s were the outside phone cable comes in…. Rather important. He’s started plastering the other wall, and … Continue reading →

Chicken Divan; A toilet? INSIDE the house?!

Thyme for Cooking Posted on January 20, 2009 by KatieOctober 10, 2017

Chicken Divan   How did I ever get to 600? (posts) Here’s what Emma thinks of that accomplishment: She’s rendering her opinion from the other side of the kitchen table. Yes, she’s that big. That also describes her thoughts on spending an hour stuck in the mud on flat ground at Vlad’s house this morning. Mon mari wasn’t particularly pleased about that one, either. For those of you who have … Continue reading →

Italian Beef and Cabbage Casserole; Stupid Woman!

Thyme for Cooking Posted on February 19, 2008 by KatieOctober 23, 2017

Go directly to recipe Minnesota in winter! Now I remember why we moved. Right now it's 0F (-18C) with -15F (-25C) windchill.  Tomorrow it's supposed to be cold. (-15F temp. -30F windchill) I have scraped ice off of my car windows.  I have brushed snow off of my car windows. I have driven in a 'winter storm'. I have seen cars parked at various odd angles, in strange places, along … Continue reading →
