This is an easy pantry soup – my favorite kind.
It goes together quickly with ingredients I always have on hand, either in the freezer or the pantry.
I think having a well-stocked pantry is a hold-over from living in the middle of nowhere in Minnesota where one could be house-bound for days in the winter.
Or maybe from living … Continue reading.....
When I lived in the US it seemed the only acceptable way to eat spinach was with bacon…. Lots and lots of bacon.
We like spinach with bacon.
We also like it with just a sprinkle of fresh lemon juice.
This is quickly done and best if done at the last minute.
A sprinkling of lemon juice and … Continue reading.....
I don’t always use fresh vegetables; sometimes I use frozen.
There are a few vegetables, like peas, that are actually better frozen. Fresh peas and sweet corn deteriorate quickly after being picked. As they are frozen soon after harvest, frozen is better.

I wrote this on Monday, as usual, and, I can only assume, hit ‘Save Draft’ instead of ‘Publish’.
Stupid busy woman……
I moved my herb garden to the side of the house after we got the puppies. Having it run the length of the fence … Continue reading.....
For the first time in my life I watched the president’s acceptance speech, live.
I never stayed up to watch it when I lived in the U.S…. And I hadn’t really planned on watching it here.
But, when I turned the news on at breakfast this morning, there it was.
I didn’t even realize that it was live until it was … Continue reading.....
