It’s been an exciting day here in the French countryside.
First the tractor hauling the big trailer came and parked in the field.
Then the pilot car came with flashing lights.
It was followed by the big harvester which barely made it down our lane.
The sunflower harvest has started.
Hector was going crazy. He didn’t know what to bark at first.
We, on the other hand, are going to grill some chicken breasts and enjoy the sunset… on the other side of the house.

Notes
Poke the breasts with a fork to let the marinade seep deeper into the chicken.
You could sauté in a skillet for 12 – 15 minutes.
Use more ginger or hot pepper for more ‘heat’.

The crops around us this year have been mainly corn and sunflowers. At the moment the corn is light brown and the sunflowers dark brown.
Soon the fields will all be brown dirt….
Then, the planting starts and by the end of Oct it will all be green again with winter wheat and rapeseed.
I look forward to that. I’m tired of brown.
